How to Create Your Free and Paid Communities

    Last updated: May 11, 2026

You need two communities to run your offer the way we teach it — a free one and a paid one. This guide walks you through creating both, and explains why the paid community is set up the same way as the free one.

    What you'll learn:

    • Why you need two communities, not one
    • How to create your free community step by step
    • How to create your paid community step by step
    • Why the paid community is technically free (and why that is a good thing)
    • What to do after both communities are created

    Why You Need Two Communities

Your free community is open to anyone. It is your front door. Your paid community is for clients who have bought one of your plans. It is where the deeper work happens.

How to Create Your Free Community

    1. Go to the Memberships tab.
    2. Click Communities.
    3. Click Groups.
    4. Click the button to create a new group.
    5. Give your group a name.
    6. Click Create Group.

How to Create Your Paid Community

Same process — just a different name.

Why the Paid Community Is Technically Free

Important context: The paid community is technically free to enter — you do not set up a payment system inside the community itself.

Here is how this actually works: Your plan is where the payment happens. When someone pays, an automation workflow grants them access.
